This safari takes you to the Kenyan wilderness and the wildlife haven in Mara. This one of the few safaris where spotting all the Big Five is guaranteed.

DAY 1 – Arrival Nairobi
Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will be met and welcomed by a Beacon Safaris representative. Our representative will transfer you to a city hotel for an overnight on a bed and breakfast basis. You may opt to relax in your hotel or have a city tour depending on your time of arrival.

DAY 2 – Samburu & Buffalo Springs Reserve
After breakfast, drive to Samburu via Nanyuki and Mt Kenya to the Samburu National Reserve. Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Afternoon game drive, meals and overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp.

DAY 3 – Samburu & Buffalo Springs Reserve
All day spent in the Samburu National Reserve with  morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp.

DAY 4 – Samburu-Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, drive through the the spectacular Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve, offering a wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Afternoon game drives, meals and overnight at Mara Intrepids Tented Camp.

DAY 5 and 6 – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the next two days exploring this world famous game reserve. This reserve is not only the most popular game reserve in the country, it is probably why people visit Kenya. The reserve is set on a classic African savannah and the huge density of wildlife is astounding. Zebras, wildebeest and gazelles graze in large herds and as a matter of fact where prey is in plenty so are the predators. The reserve covers an area of approximately 1510 sq km of open grassland waters by the Mara River and Talek which is a tributary of the former. Here it is very common to see the big cats hunting; they are also in their numbers. The leopard is the hardest to spot of the famous Big Five, but in Mara it not as hard to see it relaxing on a tree. Hippos, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes also exist in large numbers. Return to the camp for overnight

(NB: You may opt to forego one of your game drives for a visit to a Masai village for an amazing cultural experience. Balloon Safaris over the reserve are also available at an extra cost)

DAY 7 – Masai Mara
Have an early game drive before breakfast and later depart for Nairobi where you will be transferred to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your onward arrangements.
