Day 01: Arrival at Bujumbura Airport

Check in at Hotel Safari Gate or similar

Day 02: Bujumbura City Tour
After breakfast, enjoy a tour in Bujumbura, Cultural Tour of Bujumbura Morning, we visit Rusizi national park to see numerous birds and the joining point between Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika; Belvedere Climb offering a nice view of Bujumbura city ,Independence hero monument. After we visit explorer's memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Stanley and Livingstone. Overnight at Hotel Safari Gate or similar.

Day 03: Source of Nile-Karera waterfalls-Gitega

Early Morning , we take the direction to the Source of Nile, and then Karera waterfalls .On our route, magnificent tea plantations and landscapes will make you carry your camera ready for pictures.
After karera waterfalls, drive to Gitega, the second town and colonial capital of Burundi. Overnight at Tropitel Hotel Gitega.

Day 04: Gitega – Gishora drum sanctuary

After Breakfast visit of Gitega National Museum with its collection of artefacts, Gitega city administrative offices,Catholic location of Mushasha and its different schools. Later, visit of the drum sanctuary of Gishora. Gishora is one of the famous drum sites of Burundi. Gishora is perched on the top of a hill at 7km from the urban centre of Gitega The site of Gishora also houses two ritual drums that were never beaten : Ruciteme (the one for whom we clear the forest) and Murimirwa (the one for whom we cultivate).
The two names are intimately linked to the farming vocation and refer clearly to the fertility, characteristic of the king. We have also ordinary drums which the Batimbo could beat on special occasions of the country.
Visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora to relive the cultural tradition of Burundi which is becoming scarcer. The site recreates an architectural complex of Royal palace, rarely found elsewhere in the country. Get there a lot of information will be provided by Mr Antime who has travelled a lot of countries across the world exhibiting the image of Burundi with his drum.Here drummers' performance can be watched. Overnight at Tropitel Hotel Gitega.

Day 05: Transfer to Rwanda

Visit of the Butare National Museum on the way then continue to Kigali for overnight at Top Tower Hotel.

Day 06: Kigali City Tour

Have a tour around the city including the market visits, Visit Gisozi genocide memorial,Belgian soldiers memorial ,Kimironko local market ,Habyarimana State House. handicraft shop visits, pottery projects, genocide memorial is a must visit and many others before proceeding to Top Tower Hotel for overnight

Day 07: Akagera National Park

After breakfast at your Kigali hotel, our safari driver will pick you up and drive you to Akagera national park. A game drive upon arrival may reward you with possible sightings of buffalo, topi, plains zebras, elands, impalas, giraffes, reedbucks, water bucks, elephants and sitatungas. You will have lunch at the Akagera game lodge. After lunch have a boat ride on Lake Ihema. You will view hippos and crocodiles and other marine life. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 08: Game drives in Akagera & Transfer to Volcanoes national park

After breakfast have another game drive along the lake circuit to view what you missed yesterday. Return to the lodge for lunch and later drive to Kigali then you will be transferred to Volcanoes national park by our guide, the journey that will treat you with scenic view of beautifully terraced hills and landscape. Check in and overnight at Muhabura Hotel.

Day 09: Gorilla trekking

After breakfast report to the Ruhengeri park headquarters as early as 7:00am. After a short drill as regards your expected gorilla tracking conduct is concerned, you will enter the rain forest in search of the mountain gorillas. It is advisable to carry along with you a packed lunch, energy bite, mineral water on this expedition because sometimes tracking can last very long from 1 -6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. On locating the gorillas, the experience is so exhilarating and will be well worth the trouble. Spend a maximum of one hour with the gorillas then return to your lodge for lunch.
Afternoon drive to Kigali for overnight at Top Tower Hotel.
