Day 1 Arrival
This 13 days’ safari holiday leads you to the highlights of Uganda including Jinja, the famous
Murchison falls, rhino tracking at Ziwa, chimpanzee tracking in the primate capital of the world, Semuliki National Park, Queen Elizabeth National park, Ishasha, and brings you face to face with Uganda’s remaining giants in the mist; the mountain gorillas. Therefore this holiday is a combination of all that Uganda has to offer.

Day 1 Arrival

On arrival at Entebbe, you will be welcomed by your guide for transfer to the Hotel of your choice. Its on this day that you will be briefed about your tour. Depending on the time of arrival at Entebbe, you may go for a Kampala city city tour leading you to the Bahai Temple, Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Martrys’ Shrine Namugongo and Kampala city center.

Day 2 Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast we travel to the adventure capital of Uganda (Jinja) to visit the source of the world’s longest river (River Nile). We see how the Nile magically separates from Lake Victoria and then go rafting on the river Nile with professional guides who will brief you before taking part in this interesting activity.  Rafting on the Nile covers a distance of approximately 31km with 6 rapids. You will raft the grade five or six rapids. The Nile is one of the best white water rafting areas in the world so this is a moment for you to remember. Other activities to participate in are, kayaking, sport fishing, biking, village walks, horseback riding and bungee jumping. If you do not take part in the rafting, we offer you any of the above activities.

Day 3 Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

You will wake up on a morning breakfast prepared by your accommodation and then depart for Murchison falls, have lunch on the way and reach the park in the afternoon. You will have a stop at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary, track rhinos in their natural habitat on foot before you proceed to Murchison Falls. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is the only place where you see rhinos in the wild in Uganda as they were declared extinct in the country by 1993.On arrival to Murchison Falls National park; you are to have a boat trip on the world’s longest river (River Nile). Expect to see hundreds of hippos bathing, crocodiles, warthogs, antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetah, wild dogs and many more. This park is also home to over 350 bird species. You are advised to wear a hat and insect repellent to avoid bites of insects. You will then feed on packed lunch and hike with your guide to the top of the falls using the same route used by British Explorer Sir Samuel Baler and his wife Florence Baker. This gives you an opportunity to see how the Victoria Nile plunges over 45 meters over the Remnant rift valley wall thus creating the amazing Murchison Falls. You will also be able to see the rainbow that appears on the top of the falls all day. After here, check in your lodge for evening accommodation. Your accommodation is in the northern side of the Nile so expect to sleep to sounds of hippos, roaring lions, hyenas and so on.

Day 4 Game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest.

We wake up early for a morning game drive, this is a good time to spot lions, hyenas and the elusive leopard. Other animals you should expect include elephants, hartebeests, impalas, kobs, gazelles, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes and so on. You then come back to the lodge for late breakfast and then check out of the park and proceed to Kibale Forest (Primate Capital of the world).

Day 5 Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk

After breakfast, you should be ready to walk inside the dense forest with a guide. This walk takes 45 minutes to 6 hours depending on where you will find the chimps on that day. You will move with your packed lunch into Kibale Rain Forest which is home 13  primates species including, the white colobus, black colobus, red colobus, blue monkey bush babies nocturnal portal  the chimpanzees and many species of butter flies. You may also be able to see forest elephants which are not as big as their cousins in the savannah. Hiking gear such as gum boots/hiking shoes, water proof bag, insect repellent, a hat are needed since the weather hear is unpredictable. In the evening, we visit the Bigodi swamp for birding. Expect to see lots of birds here including, the grey heron, king fisher, African fish eagle and so on.

Day 6 Visit the crater lakes/Top of the world and transfer to Semuliki National Park.

We shall wake up at leisure and after breakfast; visit the Top of the world to see the crater lakes. Cameras should be at use at this time in order not to miss a shot of this beautiful Topography. We then continue to Semuliki National Park and check in our accommodation.

Day 7 Game drives, Nature walk and visit the hot springs.

We wake up for a morning breakfast and do a game drive on the savannah in search for wildlife. It is a famous birding spot with 435 bird species recorded including a high proportion of forest birds and roughly 45 species that cannot be spotted anywhere in East Africa. We then , hike through the 13km Kirumia Trail, and a visit to the hot springs where the water is hot enough to cook eggs and plantain. The experience here is magical!

At night, we have a game drive with an armed game ranger on board for our safety not forgetting that this is the best time to spot the elusive leopard. We then drive back to our lodge to relax.

Day 8 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Having had breakfast we drive to Queen Elizabeth National park and arrive in time for an afternoon boat trip. The boat trip on the Kazinga channel has always been among the highlights of a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is the water stream that joins lakes George and Edward and is said to have the highest concentration of hippos in the world. It is also among Africa’s best birding spots and the boat trip takes you about 3 hours. You then check in your lodge for evening accommodation.

 Day 9 Game drives, salt lake and visit a fishing village.

This morning, we have an early game drive through Kasenyi. This is where you can spot the most antelopes such as, kobs, hartebeest, impalas, waterbucks, and so on. We then have breakfast and visit the lake Katwe salt lake.  This lake lies on a rift valley floor and has been in existence since the 16th century. It is the main source of income for people leaving in Katwe village. You will learn about how salt is extracted from salt pans and made ready for consumption. In the evening, we visit a fishing village on the shores of lake George to learn how this economic activity is carried out here. We shall also be able to know some of the fish species caught and drive back to our accommodation for overnight.

Day 10 Transfer to Bwindi

Having had breakfast, we drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is famous for its tree climbing lions.The bird life here is also spectacular. We have a stop on the way for lunch and continue to Bwindi Forest.

Day 11 Gorilla tracking and visit a Batwa community.

On this day, you wake up very early and are briefed about gorilla trekking before entering the Impenetrable forest. Be ready to walk for one to six hours depending on where you will find the gorillas. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to associate with them. The one hour you spend with the gorillas, is most likely to be highlight of your tour. We then visit a Batwa community and learn about their way of life. These people are inhabitants of Bwindi Forest and they were hunters and fruit gatherers before this Forest became a protected area. We shall have a cultural performance and camp fire before relaxing

Day 12 Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

After our mighty breakfast, we check out of our lodge and say farewell to the dense forest as we proceed to lake Mburo National Park. This is Uganda’s smallest savannah park and with large herds of topi and eland. We end our day with an evening game drive to stare at the zebras and giraffes which add colour to the park. We then check in our lodge for evening accommodation.

Day 13 Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

After having breakfast, we do a game drive and later go for a boat trip on lake Mburo to search for wildlife. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and so on. You will enjoy the birdlife here.  We shall have some free time for those who wish to have a walking safari walk(US $30).We then check out of the park and continue our way to Kampala having a stop at the Igongo cultural center to learn about the Nkore culture. We shall have another stop at the equator to take photos which may act as souvenirs after your safari. You will be dropped off at a destination of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe hence end of service.

Note that weather at Bwindi/Kibale is un predictable, it can rain at any time.
