2 nights accommodation in Moshi on bed and breakfast, transportation from Moshi to the starting point on the mountain and return to Moshi, national park gate fees, hut/camping fees, rescue fees, tents and sleeping mattress, Salaries for the guides and porters, all meals on the mountain, guides, porters, cook accommodation and entry fees on the mountain. After the climb, 1 dinner and 1 drink (beer or soda)

Single room supplement US$ 35.00 per person per night at Springlands Hotel in Moshi, porterage fees for the porter, cooks and guides, sleeping bags, clothes and shoes.

Day 01:

Moshi (915m/3,000ft)
On arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport(KIA), you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Moshi for your overnight.



Day 02:

Moshi to Marangu Gate (1,830 m/6,000 ft) to Mandara Huts (2,740 m/9,000 ft) 12 km, 4-5 hours – Montane Forest. Tour briefing after breakfast and depart for Moshi at 09h00 to arrive at the Marangu Gate after approximately 45 minutes.  Park registration and begin hiking at 10h30. This is the rain forest and at lower elevation area and can be wet and muddy.  Shorts and t-shirts should be sufficient, but rain gear and warmer clothing can be handy. Stop halfway for lunch, and reach the Mandara Huts between 14h00 and 15h00. Unpack, rest, and have some tea or coffee. A 15 minute side trip to Maundy Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Dinner is served at around 19h00. Bathrooms with running water are available.



Day 03:

Mandara Huts- Horombo Huts (3,690 m/12,100 ft) 11 km, 6-8 hours – Heathland             
Breakfast is served at around 07h30.  Pack for your next trek and depart at 08h30.  Hiking takes you through the rainforest glades, heathland and moorlands where you can look for giant lobelias and groundsels. Stop halfway for lunch, where you can enjoy amazing views of Mawenzi. Arrive at the Horombo Huts by 15h00 where you can see Kibo’s summit. Rest, unpack, and prepare for dinner. Bathrooms with running water are available.
You may start to feel the effects of altitude here, and to aid your acclimatization, you can choose to spend an extra day resting at Horombo or climbing to a base camp below Kibo’s sub peak Mawenzi @ extra charge of US$ 230.00



Day 04:

Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts (4,695 m/15,400 ft) 10 km, 6-8 hours – Alpine Desert
Breakfast and start the day’s hike climbs through the dwindling heathland that blends into a moonscape as you enter the sweeping saddle connecting Mawenzi and Kibo. Stop for lunch and later continue with the summit climb up Kibo. There is no running water at the Kibo Huts.



Day 05:

Summit Day! Kibo Huts to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m/19,340 ft) to Horombo Huts
4 km up, 14 km down10-15 hours – Alpine Desert
Light breakfast at midnight and then prepare for your summit ascent. The goal is to climb before dawn so that you can reach Uhuru Peak shortly after sunrise.  Depart at 01h00, switchback up steep scree or possibly snow, and reach Gilman’s Point on the crater rim between 05h00 and 07h00. Here, views of the fabled crater and its icecaps greet you. Continue for another 2 hours of hiking along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak – Africa’s highest point.  After your summit stay, descend back to the Kibo Huts for lunch and a moment to rest.  Cross the saddle to the Horombo Huts for dinner and well-deserved sleep!



Day 06:

Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate to Moshi 18 km, 5-7 hours
After breakfast, pack and descend through the moorland to the Mandara Huts arriving on time for lunch.  Continue your triumphant recessional down through lush forest to the park gate, arriving at between 14h00 and 15h00. A vehicle will take you back to the Springlands Hotel or similar hotel in Moshi.



Day 07:

Transfer to the airport or depart to other destinations in Tanzania or Kenya.
