From the incomparable wildlife of the Maasai Mara, the captivating biodiversity and elephants of Samburu to the fascinating conservation and cultural experiences of the Laikipia region, this journey offers an unrivalled voyage through the land where the safari originated. Known for its endless savannah plains and empty deserts, only interrupted by snow-capped mountains and equatorial forests, Kenya is a land of diverse ecosystems and magnificent landscapes.

Each lodge visited is associated with the Long Run Initiative – an initiative dedicated to achieving sustainability through the balance of the 4Cs (Commerce, Conservation, Community and Culture).

Day 1:  Saruni Samburu, Samburu

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Saruni Samburu.

Saruni Samburu is a 'design' lodge located 7 km (4.5 miles) north of Samburu National Reserve, in Kenya's north. Surrounded by 235 000 acres of private wildlife conservancy, with a spectacular viewpoint, its large rooms and pool overlook a breathtakingly vast landscape.

Game drives take in Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and our own Kalama Conservancy. Led by professional Samburu guides, the feeling of exclusivity is complemented by a high level of comfort and tailor-made service.

Day 4:  Segera Retreat, Wilderness Collection, Laikipia

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your private charter to Segera Retreat.

Segera Retreat, on Laikipia Plateau, brings you exceptional private service in a unique oasis. Six timber and thatch villas surround a profusion of botanical life in landscaped gardens and raised wooden platforms gaze out over the savannah with Mount Kenya a magnificent backdrop. Sumptuous Segera House and Villa Segera boast similarly spectacular views and even greater privacy and luxury. The owner's exceptional African Art Collection is presented throughout and delicious home-grown food is served in a number of locations around the Retreat.

Activities include cultural tours, bush walks, game drives and spending time with antipoaching staff and in the community.

Day 7:  Cottar's 1920s Camp, Maasai Mara

Early in the morning you will be transferred to Nanyuki for your scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara where you will enjoy a game drive on your way to the camp.

Situated in an untouched exclusive concession bordering the Serengeti, Maasai Mara and Loliondo reserves, Cottar's 1920s Camp and the area guarantee privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The luxurious white canvas tents include private en-suite dressing rooms and bathrooms, main bedrooms and verandas, with family tents also having a living room with a fireplace. Cottar's luxurious Mara Homestead can cater for up to 10 guests and is only available for exclusive use.

Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks, river swimming and fishing, bush meals, sundowners and massage.

Day 10:  Nairobi

After a last game drive you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport. Back in Nairobi, a representative will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to connect with your international flight.

Accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, beer and house wine, conservation / park fees, game drives in 4x4 vehicles, scheduled flights, airport / airstrip transfers, all domestic flight departure taxes, laundry, membership to Flying Doctors Service.
