The Tour begins in Johannesburg, with an option of flying direct to Gaborone, or driving to Gaborone directly from pick-up. We will spend a night in Gaborone, Botswana at the Mokolodi Nature reserve, where you can find various wildlife from elephants, giraffe to Impala and hippos. Our accommodation is in a self-catering hut, where you will get to taste a beautiful Africa dish and sit under the starlight by the fire!
Day 2 - 3
We leave fairly early for our drive to Serowe, where we stay at a Rhino Sanctuary called Khama Rhino Sanctuary. This is a protected area, by the Botswana Army, who protects the rhino in this reserve from poaching. We get to take a sunset game drive where we can spot various animals including the rhino. The campsites are large here and we will spend our first night camping in the wild.
Day 3 - 7
We drive on to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta and the two spectacular national parks of Moremi and Chobe. This is the highlight of the trip where you get to spend a few days exploring the waterways by mokoro, a dugout canoe and on safari in 4x4 through this region. The wildlife is excellent here and there is no place else where on earth like the delta. Your accommodation varies from lodges to luxury tents for the next few days. Meals are always delicious and you get to meet the locals in the town of Maun!
We make our way back and stay at Nata lodge, on the edge of the Salt Pans, where you can take an evening drive out to experience this special place. Nata also has a bird sanctuary for anyone who has a passion for birding.
Day 9 - 10
Our last days will be spent in Gaborone where you can do a bit of shopping and also explore the capital of Gaborone. Here you can have the chance to interact with some of the local, go out for dinner or a movie! Gaborone has many options for your last day but if you prefer to lounge away the hours before your return home, then we can arrange to pamper you with a massage or drinks by the pool. We will fly out of Gaborone to Joburg to connect to our flights to Europe.
