Day 05: Maasai Mara - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast and check-out, drive to Lake Naivasha which is the first of the Rift Valley Lakes and is set at the foot of Mount Longonot, on the north side. It was on Lake Naivasha that East Africa’s first air-passengers used to land in the flying boats of Imperial Airways. After lunch at the camp take an afternoon boat ride for a chance to identify the many different birds in the area.

Day 06: Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park

After breakfast and check-out, drive via Nairobi with picnic lunches to Amboseli National Park. The Park is famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by Mt. Kilimanjaro. It offers an interesting contrast with its dry and dusty appearance, which can be attributed to the volcanic ash that came out of Mt Kilimanjaro when it last erupted. In spite of the appearance, there is a continuous supply of water that gets filtered through volcanic rocks from Kilimanjaro's melted snow. These streams flow underground, creating lush green areas, and converge at two clear water springs in the park.

Day 07: Amboseli National Park

Spend a further day in the park on morning and afternoon game viewing drives. Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo among others. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle and pygmy falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in all of Kenya. Visitors can also enjoy excellent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Meru.

Day 08: Amboseli - Tsavo West National Park

Depart for the drive via Chyulu Hills to the second largest park – Tsavo West, famed for the notorious “Man Eaters of Tsavo”. The man eating lions preyed on the railway linesmen building the great Uganda Railway. Check-in on arrival followed by lunch. Depart later for an evening game viewing drive, the park offers remarkable views with a variety of habitats ranging from mountains, river forest, lakes and wooded grassland. It is also an excellent park for visitors who enjoy walking, offering a number of nature trails and the opportunity to explore the Chaimu volcanic Lava.

Day 09: Tsavo West - Mombasa (Beach)

After breakfast and check-out, drive down to the Kenyan coast via the Makupa Causeway and on to the Island.
