Arrive at kigali airport and opt to start with a visit to the 1994 genocide memorial or proceed instead on a city tour of Kigali and shop for souvenirs and essentials before boarding your 50min transfer flight to Kamembe right at the border of Rwanda and the D.R. Congo. On arrival you will proceed to Nyungwe Forest Lodge in Nyungwe National Park where you will spend the night.
Visit a magnificent waterfall deep in the foot-hills or experience a remarkable aerial view of the forest by opting for the canopy walk. Whatever your choice you will be back right in time for lunch and then you can continue your journey west to Kibuye catching glimpses of lake kivu where you will spend the night at Moriah Hill Resort.
After breakfirst at the shores of lake kivu we continue with our journey to Gisenyi. The journey provides spectacular views of Lake Kivu and halfway through the 6 - 7hr drive you catch glimpses of the volcanoe mountains Home to the mt. gorillas that you will visit on day4. You will arrive in gisenyi where you will have lunch at the Serena beach hotel. Here you its is quite ideal for you to relax especially after having travelled constantly for a couple of days. get a a complimentary massage and enjoy your night in this fine beach hotel.
Breakfast at the balcony offers a spectacular view of lake Kivu and you will depart in no rush to the border of rwanda and D.R.Congo. This offers you a chance to see this small border town bustling with activity. We then turn back and proceed to Musanze all along catching the glimpses of the majestic volanoes mountains. you will arrive just in time for lunch at The bamboo Hotel. we then visit the local towm before proceeding to Where you will spend the evening at Gorilla lodge right at the foot of kalisimbi Volcanoe mountain. This mountain provides the most spectacular backdrop to entertaining and enchanting cultural dancers that welcome you to the home of the mountain gorillas . Freshen up and enjoy light conversations with other gorilla enthusiats.
Breakfirst is served at 5:00 a.m and then you change to your trekking gear and you are off at the main park entrance by 7:00 am. At 7:30 you will be on your way to visit one of several gorilla groups. This area is rich in Rwandan history and culture being the epicentre of the Rwandan Kingdom and currently home to the National Museum. You will have chance to view various artificats as you receive rich cultural information on Rwanda. You will then proceed to the kings palace for a tour and settle for a late lunch at a nearby hotel before we return back to the kigali serena.
This is your final day.
